Caracara Class

I hope you have had a lovely time over the summer and I am sure you are now ready to start the new school year, so welcome to Caracara Class!

Our theme this term is entitled Extreme Environments.  During the first term we will focus on countries with hot climates and during the second term we will focus on countries with cold climates. Pupils will be reading books such as Meerkat Mail, The Snail and the Whale and watching films such as Madagascar and Happy Feet.  We will do lots of sensory activities and speaking and listening tasks linked to these stories and many more. In maths we will be looking at capacity and measurement; learning how to record the weather. We will have fun exploring foods from around the world and carrying out experiments to see how things change when they are heated or cooled.

In PE pupils will have access to outdoor learning, cycling, swimming, hydrotherapy and rebound sessions.  Could you please ensure that suitable clothing for PE comes into school on a Monday as this gives us the flexibility we need to change session slots if required.  We are very happy to keep clothing in school and send it home when it needs cleaning.
